Weddings

Say “I Do” and toast to a lifetime of love at the historic Ludlow Theatre. Our art deco marquee welcomes guests and headlines you—the newlyweds. This retro glamor sets the stage for a memorable celebration of your modern love story.

The Ludlow Theatre, set in the quaint river town of Ludlow, Kentucky, began as a movie theatre in 1946, where many locals had their first date, and became the home of BIRCUS Brewing Co. in 2017. BIRCUS is an entertainment destination with live music, circus performances, craft beer and wood-fired pizza. Hosting micro to midsize weddings up to 150 guests, it boasts 22-foot ceilings and a mezzanine, balcony and beer garden for mingling and dining.

DINE

Select BYO catering or in-house catering of fresh salads and specialty wood-fired pizzas with gluten-free, vegetarian and meat-lover options. If pizza isn’t your dream dinner, consider it for an appetizer during cocktail hour or late night snack after dancing. “Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!” by food and dining writer Ken Pandolfi in the Cincinnati Enquirer recently praised our pizzaiolo, goetta pizza and craft beer:

The recipe “uses extra-fine Caputo 00 flour, resulting in a soft, chewy crust  . . . with roasted potatoes tossed in rosemary, garlic and salt, Finke’s goetta and San Marzano tomatoes. Wash it down with a Bircus’ Smaschlager Vienna Lager and you might just think it’s ‘the greatest pizza show on earth.’”

For authentic Italian, look to our classic Margherita, a Neapolitan pie with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella and fresh basil, or distinctive Fornarina, a white pie with mozzarella, arugula, dried cherries and prosciutto.

DRINK

On to merrymaking. Decide if an open, limited or cash bar best suits your style and budget. Our daily bar features twelve craft beers on tap, one cider on tap, red and white wine, and selection of national and regional spirits. For your special day, we’ll honor requests when possible and serve your preferred champagne, sparkling wine or signature cocktail.

Our canned beer with custom labels also personalizes your wedding bar. The happy couple’s photo on their chosen beer makes for a cool display, fun party favor and celebratory keepsake. The Washburns opted for their favorites, a Deeper Kilpatrick’s coffee stout for the groom and an Irreguliner Blackberry, Blueberry and Vanilla sour for the bride. While John and Elizabeth honored their heritage with the Marzen style lager Oktubafest and Mexican lager Cerveza.

DANCE

All that drinking leads to dancing! Live music and DJs rock our modular stage monthly, often alongside fire jugglers, hula hoopers and aerialists.
